We use next to ARIS Business Server also the ARIS Express platform. Recently we experience an issue with running the PDF report in ARIS Express.
We get the error message,
The user reporting this issue is running Windows 8, while with Windows 7 we do not experience this issue
Is ARIS Express already Windows 8 compliant?

I am transforming EPC diagram into a BPMN diagram, in one of the examples i have face with a situation that it seems it should be start with a condition in BPMN.

in our organization users have redirected desktop (over GPO) to a DFS location. This one particular setting is causing this error in Activation Wizard:

If the users profile is deleted and recreated without redirected desktop, the wizard finish successfully. After that, if the desktop is redirected, then wizard starts again and finish with the same error.. It is unable to set up the ARIS with redirected desktop.
This is causing ARIS not usable in the many bussiness environments. See attach.

I am trying to install ARIS Express to y Windows 7 PC but in the step where my account is validated, it always tell me that my account can't be checked because I am not connected to the Internet.I am sure to be on the Net without proxy, so what problem could be?

I plan to teach BPMN using ARIS Express in a computer room at my university. Our staff has successfully installed ARIS Express, however, for the first time start up, it asks for user/password information. Can I use one account information (e.g., my account) for all computers in the computer room? If not, how do I solve this problem.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hello everybody,
I installed Aris Express 2.4b (express.jnlp) on my Linux System (openSUSE 13.1 64bit).
That worked smoothly, IcedTea WebStart started the installer, licencing was done, a desktop button and a directory (/home/USER/.icedtea/cache/0/http/download.ariscommunity.com) were created.
While Aris Express starts, a temporary directory is created (/tmp/ARISExpress).
BUT when i click on any button on the home screen (diagram types), NOTHING happens at all.
I can navigate the toolbar, but when i want to create a new diagram, the window with the diagram types pops up and clicking on one of them again is a dead end. Same with the recent used diagrams.
Has anybody any hint or idea what is wrong and can be done? Thanks!

Aris works on admin domain account but not on normal user
I am unable to connect to ARIS express and get the attached message.
I have checked my password and login and all are correct as i am able to log into Aris Community.
I have had someone also test this and he is unable to access ARIS express. However we have other people able to access and use it on a daily basis.
Is there any issues or known causes for this?

Any ideas how to fix a blurry ARIS GUI? The entire window looks like its overlayed by some kind of blur filter.
I remember Chrome having this problem on my PC way back and I had to turn of Video Hardware Accelerration for it to go away. Any similar options for ARIS Express? I could not find one under Options.

Are there any plans to support the Greek language in ARIS Express? Although I can enter greek text in ARIS attributes, when I export the model in RTF format the greek texts appear with "????".
I checked the model languages in "View->options" but unfortunately the Greek language is not in the list.
Is there any solution to the problem?

ich benutze für meine Bachelorarbeit ARIS-Express zum modellieren von Prozessen (nur für die reine Modellierung, keine Nutzung von zusätzlichen Möglichkeiten). Nun habe ich das Problem, dass meine Bücher entweder veraltet sind oder wohl auf die Vollversion von ARIS abzielen und ich deshalb keine Erklärung zu den Symbolen in ARIS Express finde. Gibt es irgendwo eine Seite, die sämtliche Symbole erklärt? Bzw. mit welchem Symbol kann ich Ressourcen oder Materialien darstellen, die in den Prozess einfließen?
Freue mich, wenn mir jemand helfen kann. Danke!
Is anyone familiar with troubleshooting this issue? I've checked my proxy settings against a colleague's, I'm connected to the internet, tried reinstalling, rebooting... all to no avail. My colleague was not able to access her Aris Express from my machine either. I'm running Windows 7 Enterprise. 
Hello! I recently imported an ARIS express .adf of an EPC model to my current database in ARIS 9.6, attempting to use the custom filter I have set. However, I think somehow I managed to overwrite the configuration of my symbols in all of my processes in the database. So now all of my processes have ARIS express objects instead of ARIS 9.6 objects. Does anyone know how I can reset the objects back to the ARIS default symbols?

Meanwhile I am working with Aris Express for several years now and am experiencing some issues, that are pretty annoying in between:
1. Selection via rectangle with included text object are not movable! This is VERY annoying, as you always have to first select all objects that are *not* text and move them and then have to select all text objects to move them
2. Selection of Notes and free text fields only movable by each other! After having done issue #1, you get angry again because you can't move them together, even they have to be moved separately
3. Pool with lanes get's broken by time. After having modified the contend and size of a pool with two or more lanes several times, it begins to break in a way that the lanes inside are larger or smaller than the pool and don'T fit any more. It is totally impossible to drag it again to a matching form, you have to delete and recreate it!
4. FEATURE: Automatic orientation change of pools mostly not matching. Sometimes I need p.e. a pool which is wider than high, but with vertical lanes. Because of the pool orientation automatism it is impossible to do so. Better would be a "manual orientation"
5. FEATURE: A pool with a 2x2 or 3x2 lane splitting would be great for processes with twodimensional responsibilities

Hello. I was not satisfied with the work of ARIS Express under Wine (for example, elements moving does not work) so I decided to run ARIS natively using OpenJDK. But this was not successfull because I have a very old version of ARIS which certificates have expired 5 months ago (and OpenJDK, unlike Oracle JRE, seems do not support security policies to bypass this issue). Of course it's possible to download a fresh Windows installer but it's too overheady idea because the package contains JRE inside. So I decided to download JAR files manually with wget (javaws is unusable on GPRS because it establish very unstable connection and load all files from beginning on every restart), getting download links from JNLP file with a Bash script. But when I'm trying to download, for example, http://download.ariscommunity.com/PngEncoder.jar.pack.gz, server returns 404 error. If I replace "download" with "cdn-download" subdomain, it returns 403. Same if I discard .pack.gz extension and leave just .jar. What's wrong?
