The user is getting the following error messages when trying to save the ARIS Express models:
1) Save operation is not possible Internal error &
2) Unable to save model. The system message is ?????
Can you provide the root cause of the error and how to ensure the models are saved properly?

I am trying to access aris website using Internet Explorer 8 and also the help files and tutorials and am not able to. Does Aris support Internet Explorer 8? I have been able to use it with Internet explorer 9.

First of all: this is just a minor bug fix release.
So, what’s new in 2.4b?
An annoying bug has been fixed considering linking different models. You can use the link attribute for an object, to assign other ADF files. By starting the link to another ADF file, in the past, a second instance of ARIS Express was opened. Now, this assigned model is opened in the same Express instance.
This does not seem to be a big issue, but for some users, it was. For users having smaller computers, starting multiple instance of Express could take some time, and in addition, copying content from one Express instance into another was not really useful: instead of objects, just graphics were copied.
Sorry, that it took that much time to bring the update for this… actually, this was not a big issue to fix. But I hope you understand we are focusing on our great new products of the ARIS 9.x series, and of course process live. By the way: you do know process live, don’t you? This is a bug fix for the ARIS Express windows version. Actually, the WebStart version is not affected ad all. We just updated this version as well, to have both versions on the same state.
What do you have to do?
Depends. If you do not have a windows system or use the alternative (Java® WebStart®) download, there is no need anything because your java runtime will update ARIS Express automatically. If you are using the Windows version and you are interested in this bug fix, stop Express, download the installation file from here, make sure to uninstall the old Express version and install the new one.

Hi,
I have installed Express on MAC OSX 10.9 (Mavericks) and have rolled back to Apple Java version 6 (as suggested by this forum).
A couple of minor issues that i'm still having:
1) It is not possible to edit objects by double clicking and typing in the model - instead of a cursor a black line covers all of the text and you cant see what you're typing (screen shot attached). It is however possible to right click on the object and edit text from the properties menu.
2) I cant open an existing model directly from the desktop, when i do this ARIS opens and stops at the Welcome screen. The workaround is to click file open from within ARIS.
Would be great if anyone has any ideas on the above, i use ARIS every day and the above errors are getting frustrating.

beim erstmaligen anmelden kommt immer die Fehlermeldung, dass keine Verbindung zur ARIS community bestehen würde.
man sollte auch zusätzlich die Proxy-Einstellungen im System überprüfen in Sachen Internet-Optionen.
Versucht habe ich das; in Java von der Direktverbindung bis Proxy-Eintrag, IE und Firefox sowie Chrome versucht. Eine Internetverbindung besteht so was von, aber es funktioniert mit der Aktivierung nicht.
Bitte helft mir auf die Sprünge

I'm trying to import excel file into Aris Express. Posts in this forum tell that we could use process generator to do that. But when I followed the instruction, "select a model or objects; rightclick and select evaluate/Macro/open Excel table in process generator", I cannot find "evaluate" (screenshot is as below).

I've modelled a Collaboration Diagram without Lanes.
Now I'd like to add Lanes to one of the Pools/ Process. The Problem here: It's easy to create an empty Pool and add Lanes by drag'ndrop or context menu but it seems impossible to add Lanes to an existing Pool containing a Process / any symbols.
Do I have to create a new Pool with Lanes and move the Process and Messageflows or is there an easy solution?

I am mapping the processes of functions on the production floor and warehouse for my company. We are evaluating different tools and ARIS was recommended. Both the BPMN and Business Process templates look suitable. Could someone provide feedback as to why one would be used over the other?

I am trying to open up Aris Express for the first time. As usual, the program asks me to input my community user and password. Unfortunately, I am trying to connect through an enterprise proxy server. So that, I can't. When I do the same operation from my personal laptop, there is no problem.
My question is, to which server(s) and ports(s) is Aris Express trying to connect and check the community passwords? I think we need to create a rule in the proxies and firewalls to connect to these server(s).

I got a message saying that Aris Express is available in a new version. To download I had to read (and accept) the license. Is the license new? I remember that once it was basically so that you could use Aris Express for private and commercial purposes as long as you did sign up to the community and as long as you did install it yourself. And it was also mentioned that this would always stay this way (I still have a screen capture of this... ;-) )
In the new license text I only find the trial and evaluation license and there it is stated that it is not allowed to use the software for commercial purposes...

When I try to save a model in Aris Express, the save as does not do anything. Also the Open option is not working at all. I don't get an error message, it just doesn't react to the action.
This happened to me before and I unistalled and installed ARIS and it started working, however I wouldn't like to keep uninstalling and installing over and over again.
If someone dealt with this issue before, could you please help?
