Error in order to import .vdx files (MS VISIO 2010) to ARIS Express v2.4
Hi,
I am facing a problem while importing the .vdx file created in Microsoft Visio 2010 to ARIS Express v2.4.
The error message is a sfollows:
Incorrect file version (no template name).
File Process Backup Firewall v1.0.vdx does not exist in Microsoft Visio 2007 format.
Could you please come up with a solution in order to import the .vdx files in ARIS Express v2.4

Error while logging into the application
Hi,
I am unable to log into the ARIS Express application. Though I have successfully registered with the community and also able to log into the portal using URL.

Hallo,
ich habe das Problem, dass ich nicht speichern kann. Hab schon einige Foreneinträge mit ner Fehlernummer gefunden, aber bei taucht keine Fehlermeldung auf. Es passiert schlichtweg nichts. Dto. beim exportieren oder wenn ich auf den Ornder öffnen klicken. Hab die neue Version 2.4.
Kennt das Problem schon jemand und kann mir helfen?

Default number of words in Annotation

Error while importing .vdx in ARIS EXPRESS v2.4
Hi,
Whenever I tried to import a map created on MS VISIO 2010, saved as .vdx in ARIS Express v2.4, the following error message irritates me (PFA the attached). Could anyone please tell me a solution to import the .vdx files in ARIS Express v2.4?

Import im Word of PDF exports from Aris Express

Aris Express for OSX
Hello,
I downloaded the .jnlp file and installed Java, but every time I try to execute it changes my graphic card to the discrete one, starts with the logo, says downloading and then I get:
Unable to launch the application.
Name: ARIS Express 2.4a
Publisher: Software AG
Location: http://download.ariscommunity.com
And in the details it says:
Error: java.util.HashMap cannot be cast to java.awt.RenderingHints
Any ideas?

IPad - can't login
Hello,
I have register me for the windows application. Additional I would use it on my IPad and download the app.
When i try to login, I always get the message like "user / password is incorrect". On the windows PC I have no login problems.

ich bin in der Vorbereitung für meine Bachelorarbeit und möchte dazu wissen, ob man mit Aris Express auch eine Simulation durchführen kann. Es geht um den Personalfreisetzungsprozess und ich möchte gerne diesen mal durchlaufen lassen. Ich habe bis auf 1 Woche Arbeit mit Aris vor ein paar Jahren keine Grundkenntnisse über das Programm. Import failure
Hi everyone,
hope someone can help me.
The issue is that a colleague of mine and I are working on the same Database simultaneously and at the end of the day we agree to exchange our jobs. The export procedure ran without any problem, but as we imported the .xml file we realized that we have lost quite an half of our work as many models were blank or in some others many objects have disappeared.
So how can we have a merge that maintains my updates and also my colleague's updates?
Our import procedure is as follows:
- select the xml file
- in the settings we have selected "check and import" without flagging "abort on error" and we have flagged "merge source and target attributes""always include group path"
- in the conflict resolution we have selected from the dropdown menu the following options: "source overwrites target" and "target retained" + a flag on merge association of user to user groups.

Java error message
Hi,
When I start ARIS Express 2.4a I get a Java 'error' message (attached) which indicates that the application will be blocked in a future Java security update. Is this a known issue?

Export model information as PDF
Hello,
when I export the model information as pdf, the result of the contents looks quite unstructured. The starting event "Eintrag einer ..." is shown somewhere at the end and the linked IT-Systems are at the beginning. And every symbol is on the same level.
What is on 1.2.4 should be on 1.2.1. How can I manage this? Is it possible to manipulate the hierarchy?

it seems i can pass the login segment of the program ; its just stuck on "checking username and password"

Validation features
I found some time to test the EPK validation features of ARIS Express.
Please take a look at the two flows below.
The left side flow forks with an Exclusive OR (XOR). Consequently exactly one of the two alternative paths is performed. The AND join waits for both paths to be finished. This flow cannot end. ARIS Express gives no warning or error message. Nothing!
As far as I understand EPKs a state cannot fork. Please correct me if I am wrong. Here again ARIS Express gives no warning or error message. Nothing!
Further more, I drawed both flows in the same single diagram. No warning about duplicate names. Nothing!
I consider this as an absolute show stopper. Visio or Dia -- to name a free of charge OSS tool -- provide me the same functionality.
What is the aim of ARIS Express?

Aris express not opening
I have downloaded the exe file.
I then:
- Updated Java
- Installed Aris
- Clicked on the icon to open the app
The splash screen appears and then nothing happens.
Please help, I cant find anything about this on the FAQ's and I have a prospecitve client that uses it and I need to have a look.
