eine Berufsbildende Schule möchte Aris Express nutzen, jetzt geht es aber hierbei um mehrere Computerräume mit ca 20 Geräte pro Raum.
Ist es zulässig bzw möglich Aris Express mit einer Registrierung zu nutzen. Oder stellen sich dort Problem auf ?
Gibt es einen kostengünstigen (kostenlosen) Weg für die Schule Aris Express zu Lehrzwecken einzusetzen.

I use Aris Express 2.4 first time. I have a document with EPC model in *. VSD (MS Visio 2007) and Aris can import *.VDX format. I have done steps:
I don’t understand, why one half of model can view and second half is non active.

when i started Aris Express this morning all orange event icons have disappeared from the program and also from all flowcharts that i have done so far. I tired to find a solution but i couln't.
Does anyone have experiences with such a situation?

I'm working on a complex BPMN model. Because i want to increase the acceptance of this model, i try to hide some content in a collapsed subprocess.
While it was possible to collapse the subprocess and hiding the containing content (start- and end-events, activities (busines rule) and conditional sequence flows), expanding doesn't work as expected. An error occured: "Objekt platzieren: Es ist nicht erlaubt, ein Objekt an dieser Stelle anzulegen oder zu platzieren" (my translation: Place a object: it is not allowed to create or place an object at this position). The subprocess expanded, but all content (and all of my work) was lost.
Whats going wrong?

I was trying to install Aris express on one of my team's laptop, unfurtinitly, it didnt installed and we got the attached error msg. it says "Unable to Import the Application" althought the laptop is connected to enternt.
Please advise.
I have not been able to import swimlanes from Visio into ARIS Express. The swimlanes import as rectangle objects that layer over the process shapes.
Also, shape connectors inconsistently transfer import, regardless if they are locked to shapes. I have not been able to identify why all connectors import with some Visios while with other imports connectors are missing.

I'm using ARIS Express 2.4 and trying to export a Business Process Model to PDF format but I'm receiving the following error:
Error while creating report:
Report: Export graphic as PDF, line 17 cannot create output objectnull
We tried in three different notebooks without sucess. Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows 8.
Can anyone help us?

Well, Christmas time is coming, and we thought the time is right to give you a little gift.
So, at least, if you use ARIS Express and run unix/linux, here is good news for you.
Due to the following reasons, we decided to do an update of the webstart version of ARIS Express (the Windows version is not affected)
1.) security restrictions due to a new JRE
The upcoming versions of the JRE require some settings for the application, otherwise, Express would not start. The update for ARIS Express considers these settings, so you are not bothered by this dialog.
2.) download at every startup
Right now, every time you start Express, it is downloaded.
This won't happen with the webstart update of Express. It is also possible to be started again if you do not have an internet connection.
3.) error during opening a model
If you start Express and want to open an existing model, an error occurs currently:
In the console, an error message is shown currently
There is a workaround for that (create a new model, close it, that's all), but in the next version, this should not be necessary.

Release date is planned for next month, or at least, before the new JRE is released, which forced this update.
Please consider that there are no additional functional changes in Express itself.

meine Versuche, Objekte mit Modellen zu verknüpfen waren leider nicht sehr erfolgreich. Eine Verknüpfung zu einem anderen ARIS Modell öffnet jedes mal ARIS Express neu. Normalerweise sollte das Modell nur in einem neuen TAB geöffnet werden (aktuell laufende ARIS Instanz).
Wie es funktionieren sollte kann bei ARIS Express 1.0 (youtube.com/watch?v=mhuA2elNoqQ) nachvollzogen werden. Heute (Version 2.4) funktioniert es leider nicht mehr.
Mache ich etwas falsch? Handelt es sich um einen Bug oder wurde diese Funktion gestrichen?

Hi, when I try to link a parent process to a sub process file it works well. However, when I press run (F7) it will open up a completely new aris express editor instance instead of just opening up the file inside the already open aris editor.
How can I make it work the right way?

Dear community members,
as described in my post last month, due to a new JRE release (7, update 51), we were forced to update our Express version for "non-windows" systems. Due to increased security conditions in the the JRE, we needed to adjust Express.
So, the new of Express is online, version is 2.4a.
So what do you need to do?
Nothing, if you use the windows installation. The version for Windows is not affected.
Otherwise: nothing, if you do not have the new JRE yet. Just start Express, it will update from 2.4 to 2.4a.
But in the case, your JRE already has been updated, and you did not start Express before, Express is blocked from the JRE. Thus, since it is blocked, Express can not be updated automatically.
In that case, just delete the webstart cache (open the java panel, and on the first "general" page, in the "temporary internet files", you can delete the application).
Then, just click this link to download the new version, that's it.
By the way: there is still a dialog shown, that Express will be blocked in a future release of the java runtime environment. You can ignore that. Even if you pull the java security settings to the maximum, the new version will be started.

I am very puzzled when I've just try out the ARIS EXPRESS software. In the "order process.adf" template, I found some green rectangle with "Function" type. Despite my efforts on try all method to find any symbol to fit it or want to change activity symbol to function symbol but the result is failure.
So, does it exist a way to realize the "Function" symbol?
It's heard very well that ARIS is a very excellent tool to build process model. But I was falled into a dejected feeling when I used the tool newly.
Could anyone help me to realize the "Function" symbol?

I am a new user, Pablo Barrios, in the Community. I am using Aris Express in my laptop after registering me and fulfilling the wizard process when I opened the application for the first time.
Until that everything OK. Now I need to using Aris Express in another laptop, but this time without Internet access (there is no way to connect that new laptop to Internet). When I try to run the application for the first time, the wizard process run as usual. But as I said, I can not finish it and therefore open the application since I do not have an Internet Connection to validate the registration.
Does anyone know what could I do to use it also in the other laptop?

New objects have always the object size 150%/150% but i would like them smaller 100%/100%
Is it possible to change the preset size of objects ?
